What this site knows about you

The short version

This site does not track you. There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies, and nothing embedded from another company. The only information I ever receive is what you choose to type into the enquiry form, or into the project questionnaire if you are a client, and I use it to reply to you and to do the work.

What the enquiry form collects

The form on the Start a project page asks for your name, your email address, and a message. You can also tell me about your business and which package you were looking at. Those last two are optional.

When you send it, that information is delivered to my email inbox and nowhere else. I keep it in my inbox so I can reply and, if we end up working together, so I have a record of what we agreed. I do not add you to a mailing list, and I do not sell, rent, or share it with anybody.

What the project questionnaire collects

If we are working together I send you a link to a questionnaire about your business: your contact details, what you offer and charge, how you want the site to look, and links to your photos. It reaches me the same way the enquiry form does, as an email to my inbox, and I use it to plan and build your site. I do not share it with anybody.

Who else handles it

Two companies are involved in getting your message to me, and only for that. Resend delivers the email. Vercel hosts this site and, like any web host, keeps short-lived server logs that include the IP address a request came from. I do not use those logs to build a picture of anybody, and I cannot connect them to you.

Cookies and storage

No cookies. Your browser does keep one small note for itself while the tab is open, which records that the opening animation has already played so you do not sit through it twice. It never leaves your device and it disappears when you close the tab.

The project questionnaire also saves your answers in your own browser as you type, so you can close it and come back. That copy stays on your device and is removed when you send the questionnaire.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within a year. If we do work together, I keep our correspondence and the project files for as long as I am looking after your site, and for a few years after that in case you come back to it or I need it for my records.

What you can ask me to do

Ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, and I will. Send a note to Maddoxgc@icloud.com and I will get back to you within a week. There is no form to fill in and no reason you have to give.

Children

This site is for businesses, and it is not aimed at children. I do not knowingly collect anything from anybody under 13.

Changes

If the site starts doing something new with data, this page changes on the same day and the date at the top changes with it. Nothing here applies retroactively to information you already sent.
